How to Change the Head of an Electric Toothbrush

The advent of an electric toothbrush did a lot to improve dental hygiene. The brush formations and powered head action helps the brush bristles to get deep between the nooks and crannies of teeth where ordinary manual toothbrushes do not. However, just like a manual toothbrush, the bristles on electric toothbrush heads do wear out over time. Many brands of electric toothbrushes today sell replacement heads that are equipped with new brushes. Changing an electric toothbrush head takes no more than five minutes.

Instructions

    • 1

Grab the base of the old brush head; loosen it by turning it counter clockwise.

    • 2

Push in slightly and turn to the left to unlock the end and then pull the old head straight out.

    • 3

Line up the front of the new brush's head with the front of the toothbrush handle. Also check to make sure the bars on the base of the brush head are aligned with the notches inside the handle.

    • 4

Push in slightly and then twist the brush base, or nut, clockwise until it is snug and will not turn any more.

    • 5

Attach the handle to the base to charge and place the travel cap over the brush when it is not in use.
