  Brush your teeth without toothpaste half an hour before your apply the strip. This will help remove plaque and food particles from the tiny openings in your tooth enamel so that your teeth will receive the fullest effects from the treatment. Don't brush your teeth immediately prior to application.

  Remove an upper teeth strip from the box and carefully tear open the individual wrapper. Slide the whitestrip and plastic backing out of the package.

  Find the zigzag slit on the side of the backing. Separate the slit so that the strip begins to lift off the backing. Gently pinch the corner of the strip between your thumb and forefinger, and peel it off.

  Line up the top of the strip just below your gum line. (You'll need a mirror for this step.) Gently press the textured side of the strip to your teeth to help spread out the gel and seal the strip to your teeth. Try not to allow the gel to touch your gums, as this might cause irritation.

  Fold the rest of the strip behind your teeth so that the whitestrip fits snugly. Try to avoid touching the strip with your tongue.

  Leave the whitestrip in place for no longer than 30 minutes. Remove the strip if your gums become irritated from the gel.

  Peel the strip off your teeth and throw away. Wipe, rinse or brush off the remaining gel.

  Repeat the process on your lower teeth. Note that the lower strips are shaped differently to allow them to conform to your teeth. Apply the long side of the strip to the visible portion of your teeth, and then fold the remainder of the strip over to the back. Feel free to use upper and lower strips at the same time.

  Apply strips once a day for 20 consecutive days. Severely stained teeth might require two boxes to achieve maximum whiteness.
