Directions for Opalescence PF 15

Ultradent manufactures Opalescence, a professional whitening system used by dentists. The product comes in a variety levels, including a 15 percent formula. Opalescence PF 15% is designed to be worn on the teeth for four to six hours daily, and your dentist will instruct you on how and when to use the product, which is worn in whitening trays. After a dentist provides you with the product and instructions, you can apply the product at home.

  Visit a dentist and have your teeth and gums evaluated. Your dentist can tell you which percentage Opalescence product is best for you, and diagnose problems with your mouth that may not by compatible with the product. If your dentist thinks this whitening system is right for you, he will give you an instruction sheet provided by the manufacturer and provide you with the whitening product and show you how to load your whitening trays with Opalescence.

  Read the instructions your dentist gave you thoroughly.

  Apply Opalescence whitening gel to the trays your dentist gave you. The gel comes in a syringe, and you should use no more than 1/3 to 1/2 of the syringe. Squeeze the gel out of the syringe in one long bead of gel, filling the tray from side to side.

  Put the trays in your mouth, fitting them snugly over your teeth.

  Set a timer for four hours. You can leave Opalescence 15% on your teeth for six hours, if your dentist recommends this. Your dentist will tell you how frequently to use Opalescence.

  Remove the trays from your teeth and rinse your mouth with cold water immediately. Make sure to rinse all the gel out of your mouth.

  Throw away empty syringes. They should not be reused.

  Refrigerate the product between uses. Opalescence should not be stored in heat or direct sunlight.
