Homemade Techniques for Teeth Whitening
-
Salt and Soda Toothpaste
-
Add one tbsp. of baking soda and one half tbsp. of regular table salt to a small cup. Pour in one tbsp. of ordinary water. Using your toothbrush, mix the ingredients together. Once throughly mixed, brush your teeth as you normally would using the mixture. Repeat once daily until desired whiteness is achieved.
Orange Peel Rub
-
Combine one tbsp. each of dried and crushed orange peels and bay leaves into a small bowl. Using a slightly damp finger, swipe through the bowl and cover your finger with the crushed mixture. Gently rub your finger across your teeth for five minutes once a day. Repeat until desired whiteness is achieved.
Peroxide and Soda Toothpaste
-
In a small cup, mix two tbsp. of baking soda with a few drops of regular, consumer grade hydrogen peroxide. Mix the combination using your toothbrush. Brush your teeth with the concoction as you would with normal toothpaste. This recipe can be used for every cleaning as an excellent replacement for regular store-bought toothpaste.
Homemade Whitening Gel
-
Using the baking soda and hydrogen peroxide toothpaste recipe, you can create a homemade gel that rivals over-the-counter style whitening strips. Combine the toothpaste mixture in a small tray with two tbsp. of regular, food-grade glycerol. Using a toothpick or cotton swab, apply the gel to your teeth and smile. Don't close your lips over the gel as this will dilute it and wash it away. Let the gel sit for no longer than thirty minutes. Rinse your mouth with water and wipe your teeth off with a clean towel to remove the gel. This method can be performed daily until desired whiteness is achieved.
