Can I Make My Own Teeth Whitener?
While many people turn to commercial and professional teeth whitening methods to clean and bleach their teeth, you can make your own effective teeth cleansing and whitening treatments at home. Because home teeth whitening remedies generally work over time, it is best to choose one and use it in place of your regular toothpaste.-
Herbal and Mineral Whitener
-
You can make your own teeth whitener using some common household items combined with herbs and minerals. First you need to obtain Echinacea powder, goldenseal powder, finely ground prickly ash bark and calcium, magnesium and Vitamin C tablets online or from your local health food store. You will also need baking soda and sea salt.
Grind three of each of your calcium, magnesium and Vitamin C tablets into a fine powder using a mortar and pestle or the back of a spoon. Pour the powder in a glass jar and add equal parts of the finely ground prickly ash bark and baking soda to the mixture. Then, add one part of sea salt and ½ part of goldenseal powder. Stir the mixture thoroughly. Apply approximately ¼ tsp. of the mixture to your toothbrush, add a little water and brush your teeth with the mixture every day until you achieve desired results.
Baking Soda
-
You can combine 1 tsp. of table salt and 3 tsp. of baking soda into a tooth powder to brush your teeth with every day. You can also mix 5 tsp. of baking soda with 5 tsp. of vegetable glycerin and then add 10 drops of peppermint oil and ¼ tsp. salt to make your own teeth whitening toothpaste. Brush your teeth with the mixture both in the morning and at night until you achieve your desired results.
Soda Whitener
-
You can make your own soda-based teeth whitening remedy by combining ¼ cup of plain soda water with 1 tsp. of aloe vera gel and 4 tsp. of vegetable glycerin. Boil the mixture for 15 to 20 minutes, remove from heat and add 3 drops of peppermint oil. When the whitening mixture has cooled, shake it well and use it as your regular daily toothpaste.
Vodka Whitener
-
Combine 1 tsp. of vodka with 2 tbps. of baking soda, ½ tspj. of salt and 3 drops of oregano oil. Stir the mixture thoroughly and use it in place of your regular toothpaste. Do not use this mixture if you have bonding on your teeth, as the oregano oil will stain it.
