White Teeth Tips

The daily wear and tear that we subject our teeth to can make them look yellowed or dingy. You could head to the dentist for a professional whitening session, or you could save your money and use simple tips to keep your teeth looking their whitest.
  1. Dietary Changes

    • Certain things that you consume through the day can leave stains on your teeth, causing them to look yellow or dull. Coffee is one of the main culprits, as it can leave stains on your teeth. Switch to water in the morning, or, if you must have coffee, follow it up with a stick of sugar free gum so that the coffee doesn't have time to sit on your teeth and stain them.

If you're a smoker, quit. Smoking causes teeth to look yellow and even black.

If you find yourself without a toothbrush, grab an apple. Eating apples keeps the teeth clean.

    Home Remedies

    • If you've ever cleaned a stain using a baking soda solution, then you know how effective it is at returning things to their previous states. That's why a weekly brush with baking soda can do your mouth good. Just mix a tablespoon of baking soda with enough water to form a paste, the consistency of toothpaste. The abrasive action of the baking soda paired with it's chemical cleaning ability means that it can help you get whiter teeth, or keep whitened teeth looking their best. Just remember not to swallow the solution.

You might also trick people into thinking you have white teeth by wearing red lipstick with blue undertones. The blue tint will bring out the whiteness in your teeth, tricking everyone into thinking that you have flawless pearly whites.

    Over-The-Counter Whitening Kits

    • Many consumers have great success with over-he-counter whitening kits. The most effective kind are those that come with strips or trays that stay on your teeth for a short period of time. They are formulated with peroxide, which means you get fast whitening action. Most people see results in seven days ,with two daily treatments. however, this solution may make your teeth feel more sensitive. If this is the case, simply do the treatment only once a day. It will take a little longer to whiten, but your teeth won't feel so sensitive.
