Instructions

  1. Strawberries and Baking Soda

    • 1

Remove the green top off one strawberry. Place the strawberry in a small bowl and puree it with a fork.

    • 2

Add 1/2 tsp. of baking soda to the mashed strawberry and mix the ingredients together.

    • 3

Place some of the mixture on your toothbrush and apply it to your teeth until all of them are covered.

    • 4

Wait five minutes. The malic acid in the strawberries naturally removes surface stains off your teeth while the baking soda has a bleaching effect. Avoid leaving the mixture on your teeth longer than five minutes because the natural sugars from the strawberry can cause cavities and the acid can erode your teeth.

    • 5

Rinse your mouth with water to get rid of the mixture. Floss in between your teeth if any strawberry seeds got stuck. Brush your teeth with a fluoride toothpaste. Perform this home-whitening method no more than once a week

    Lemon Juice and Baking Soda

    • 6

Place 1/2 tsp. of baking soda in a small bowl.

    • 7

Juice a lemon and mix the lemon juice with the baking soda. The mixture will bubble slightly.

    • 8

Wipe a cotton swab or cotton pad over your teeth to dry them off and remove any saliva.

    • 9

Dip your toothbrush in the mixture and brush it over your teeth. Rinse the mixture off your toothbrush.

    • 10

Leave the mixture on your teeth for no more than one minute because the acid in lemon juice can damage your tooth enamel. Brush your teeth with a fluoride toothpaste.
