How to Whiten Teeth With a Laser Light
Laser teeth whitening is a procedure that has increased in popularity in dental offices across the country. The process of laser whitening involves lasers, as the name implies, and can leave your teeth sensitive for hours or days after the procedure. The procedure is expensive, but it is well worth the dramatic results for those that desire that picture perfect white smile.Instructions

1
Determine the degree of discoloration the teeth have. A dentist compares the color of your teeth against a tooth shade spectrum and determines how long you will need to sit under the laser; and decides if multiple treatments will be necessary.

2
Apply the rubber gum dam. This prevent gum irritation from contact with the whitening gel and laser light.

3
Apply the whitening gel to the dental tray and insert it into the mouth. Place the dental tray in between the front and back of the teeth. The outer portion of the dental tray will remain exposed.

Position the light emitting end of the laser in front of the mouth. Turn the laser on and leave it running for the recommended time, depending on the degree of discoloration. Effects can be seen in as little as twenty four minutes. The light and heat generated by the laser activate the whitening chemicals in the gel -- enabling it to enter the enamel and eliminate stains.

Remove the dental tray and rinse out the mouth with water, to get rid of any excess gel.
