Everyone suffers from toothache from time to time. Instead of reaching for over-the-counter drugs, there are many ways to find natural relief for toothache pain, and some of them may surprise you with their healing powers.-
Easy Dental Solutions
-
Before using herbal remedies, first try some of these easy solutions. Attempt to remove any trapped food that may be causing your toothache by rinsing your mouth with saltwater. Mix 2 to 3 tsp. salt into an 8-oz. glass of warm, not hot, water. Swish it around in your mouth for at least 1 minute before spitting it out. If rinsing does not work, try flossing to remove any food stuck between your teeth. If your tooth still aches after you have carefully flossed all your teeth, suck on some ice to reduce any inflammation. You can also use an ice pack wrapped in a towel, and place it on the cheek closest to the sore tooth for 15 minutes at least 3 to 4 times daily until the pain subsides. Or try a hand massage with ice. Simply rub an ice cube over the V-shaped area where the bones of your thumb and forefinger meet for about 5 to 7 minutes. This ice rub should reduce the pain by about 50 percent.
Herbal Remedies

If none of the above solutions ease your pain, you may want to try some herbal remedies instead. Clove oil is the best known herbal treatment for toothache relief. Most drug stores carry clove oil, often called eugenol, so it is easy to find. Dip a cotton swab in the oil, and apply it to the affected tooth and surrounding gum. You can also make a warm infusion tea, using 1 tsp. powdered clove herb per 1 cup of boiling water. Steep for 10 to 20 minutes, and drink up to 3 cups per day. Another natural cure for toothache is tarragon. For temporary toothache relief, chew fresh tarragon leaves as needed.
