You had a back tooth extraction 3 days ago but it is really sore and swollen you there bad taste in your mouth seems to be getting worse?
Here are some tips to help manage pain and swelling after a tooth extraction:
* Take pain medication as prescribed by your dentist.
* Apply a cold compress to the outside of your face near the extraction site.
* Elevate your head and keep your mouth open when lying down.
* Eat soft foods and avoid chewing on the side of your mouth where the extraction was performed.
* Rinse your mouth gently with warm salt water several times a day.
* Avoid smoking and drinking alcohol.
If your pain and swelling do not improve within a few days, or if you develop a fever or chills, it is important to see your dentist or oral surgeon immediately.
