How do you stop a toothache when the tooth is cracked?
If the tooth is cracked, it's important to see a dentist as soon as possible. In the meantime, here are some tips to help relieve the pain:- Rinse your mouth with warm salt water.
- Apply a cold compress to the outside of your cheek.
- Take over-the-counter pain medication such as ibuprofen or acetaminophen.
- Avoid chewing on the affected side of your mouth.
- Avoid eating hard, crunchy, or sticky foods.
- Brush and floss your teeth gently to avoid irritating the cracked tooth.
- Use a soft-bristled toothbrush.
- Use an anti-inflammatory mouthwash.
