How to Figure Out Net Carbs for Atkins
The Atkins Diet's core philosophy is that by reducing the amount of carbohydrates that you consume in one day, you can lose weight. When on the Atkins diet, you will need to stay under a minimum amount of carbs each day. In order to insure that you stay under the minimum, you will need to calculate what are known as Net Carbs, the total amount of carbohydrates you consume.Things You'll Need

Find the nutrition facts on each package of food that you eat. This is typically on the package itself.

Find the "Total Carbohydrates" section of the nutrition facts. This is the total number of carbohydrates one serving of the food has. Note that if you have had more than one serving of the food product, such as having two slices of bread, you will need to add the amount for one serving per each serving you have had.

Subtract the "dietary fiber" section from the total carbohydrates. You can find the grams from dietary fiber directly below the Total Carbohydrates section. If there is no section, skip this step.

Repeat steps 1 to 3 for each thing you consume. Write down each amount on a piece of paper.

Calculate the total amount of carbs you have consumed based on the piece of paper. This is your net carbs.
