Hydroxycut 24 Side Effects

Hydroxycut, a dietary supplement manufactured by Health Sciences Inc. is one of the most popular diet drugs of all time---9 million units were sold in 2008 alone. It is available in a variety of forms, including Hydroxycut 24, but this drug may not be as safe as consumers were originally led to believe.
  1. Common Side Effects

    • There are several side effects that have been commonly reported in users of Hydroxycut and Hydroxycut 24. These include elevated blood pressure and heart rate, headaches, restlessness and sweating.

    Serious Side Effects

    • In addition to the common side effects of Hydroxycut, some serious and adverse reactions have been reported as well. Side effects such as jaundice, rhabdomyolysis, seizures and severe fatigue have all been reported.

    Reported Death

    • In March of 2007 the death of a 19-year-old man in the Southwest United States was attributed to the dietary supplement Hydroxycut.

    FDA Warnings

    • As a result of more than 20 reported cases of liver damage and at least one fatality attributed to Hydroxycut, the Food and Drug Administration has warned the general public against using Hydroxycut for any purpose whatsoever. If you have any unused portions of Hydroxycut, the FDA recommends returning them to the original place of purchase.

    Voluntary Recall

    • Because of the FDA warnings and serious health risks concerning Hydroxycut, the manufacturers have issued a voluntary recall on many Hydroxycut products. This includes rapid release tablets, liquid caplets, drink packets and more.
