Leptopril Dangers
Leptopril is a weight-loss diet supplement that is sold by A.G. Waterhouse, which also makes Leptoprin, another more-expensive weight-loss diet supplement. These two supplements have the exact same ingredients, but are sold at different prices and marketed to different consumer bases. Leptopril is considered the generic version of Leptoprin.-
Caffeine
-
Leptopril has caffeine listed as an ingredient. It also contains green tea leaf extract and green coffee bean, both of which have caffeine. Caffeine can lead to feelings of anxiousness, heart palpitations, an elevated heart rate and difficulty sleeping.
Ma Huang Extract
-
Another ingredient in Leptopril is Ma huang extract, which contains ephedrine. This has been linked to such problems as irregular heart rate, heart attack and stroke.
Warning Against Casual Use
-
Because of the powerful stimulants in Leptopril, only those who are at least 20 pounds overweight with a body mass index of at least 27 should use Leptopril. Casual dieters should not use it.
Product Review
-
Two weight loss websites, weightlossguide.com and proweightlossguide.com, have reviewed Leptopril and do not recommend it. Weight Loss Guide sees Leptopril as nothing more than an expensive version of a caffeine pill, while Pro Weight Loss Guide warns consumers that little information is available about the product on the Leptopril website.
Unsubstantiated Claims
-
According to phenterminereviews.com, "Liptopril violated the FTC Act by making unsubstantiated fat and weight loss claims, false claims that clinical testing proves certain efficacy claims, and false claims that Daniel B. Mowrey, Ph.D, is a medical doctor." This charge is based on a quote by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).
