Liquid Protein & Aloe Diets

Protein drinks act faster on the body because the stomach doesn't have to work very hard to digest its nutrients. But be careful to read the labels on popular protein drinks. Some drinks touting their supply of nutrition, might be masking a drink high in sugar, caffeine or salt. Drinking aloe vera juice as a source of protein is a smart way to better your health.
  1. Aloe Vera Names

    • Aloe vera is a plant with many genus names: Aloe barbadensis, Aloe indica, Aloe perfoliata, A. vulgaris, Aloe chinensis, A. massawana and aloe perryi. The first genus name, Aloe perfoliata, was described in 1753 by Carl Linnaeus, the first Swedish botanist to classify organisms into species and give them genus names. Aloe is a succulent plant found in various parts of the African continent. It has sharp-ridged leaves, almost like a cactus, and grows 2 to 3 feet tall. It has ingredients readily able to soften skin and encourage proper elimination of waste.

    Power Juice

    • Not only is aloe vera good for the skin, it is also good for your insides. Think of aloe vera juice like orange juice or cranberry juice, but with more nutrients comparable to pomegranate or acai juice. Natural juices like these impart more nutrients than powdered or man-made drinks.

    Amino Acids & Lectin

    • Aloe vera was found to possess eight essential amino acids and proteins such as lectin. Essential amino acids are acids that the body needs to thrive but cannot produce. Lectin is a protein found in plants that bind to the carbohydrate-possessing receptors found in cells such as red blood cells. Lectin seems to aid in digestion and help diabetic patients.

    Eliminate Waste

    • Protein from aloe vera was studied at the Linus Pauling Institute of Science & Medicine in 1985. The study found that the aloe vera protein helped the digestive system absorb other proteins and nutrients. Aloe vera also seemed to clear the digestive tract of any leftover fermenting waste material, which might cause fecal impaction and putrefaction (the untimely decomposition of waste inside the body).

    Vitamins & Minerals

    • Aloe vera juice does not have any side effects. Its other nutrients consist of vitamins A, B and C, vitamin E and folic acid, which makes it ideal for pregnant women. It contains all multivitamin minerals, plus collagen and elastin to repair skin and tissue. It helps fibroblasts on the skin repair tissue after a sunburn. It is put in mouthwash because it is healthy for the mouth and gums.
