Protein
-
Protein is not just for building muscle, it also is a source of amino acids, which build the immune system, help the body heal and increase energy. Everyone needs protein. For example, men need 40 to 53 grams of protein per day, and women need 41 to 46. The protein that celebrities consume in their diets is of animal or plant origin. Animal protein can be found in lean meats such as turkey, tuna, chicken ( without the skin), eggs and many different kinds of fish. Animal protein is eaten either baked or grilled. Plant protein can be found in foods such as spinach, soy, black beans, nuts, broccoli, potatoes, chick peas, brown rice and tofu. Plant proteins have many benefits because they are low in fat and high in fiber. Plant-based protein help reduce heart disease and also lower the risk of developing cancer, diabetes and obesity. While animal protein in moderation is good for you, too much can lead to kidney and gallbladder stones. There is, however, no limit to how much vegetable protein that can be consumed.
Vegetables
-
Vegetables are an excellent source of fiber and they do excellent things for the body. The vegetables that celebrities eat in their diets are fried, processed or eaten with butter. The vegetables that celebrities consume are as close to their natural state as they can be. You can get healthy vegetables from your local farmers market, grocery store or even your own garden. Whenever you buy vegetables, it is important to to wash them thoroughly with water before consuming them, as they may be covered in harmful pesticides or chemicals.
There are many different meals that include vegetables and protein. One example is grilled chicken salad on a bed of spinach leaves with tomatoes, cucumbers, and almond slivers. Another protein and vegetable combination can be done by making vegetable soup with brown rice and tofu. You could also dip raw vegetables into a humus dip that is made from chick peas. Protein and vegetables can be combined in soups, salads, or even dips.
