Purchase a variety of baby foods before you begin the diet. There are many fruit flavors available, such as apple, pear, banana, peach, apricot and mixed berry. Be sure to include vegetables as well, including carrots, green beans, peas, squash and sweet potatoes. If you don't mind a few more calories, try chicken and turkey flavors.

Substitute a jar of baby food for your usual meals. If you have many different flavors of baby food, you are not likely to get bored with the diet as quickly.

Eat one regular "adult" meal per day, if possible. Include healthy items in this meal, such as lean meat and vegetables. Avoid eating junk food, which negates the purpose of the low-calorie baby food. After eating mostly baby food during the day, a regular meal helps you to feel full and avoid hunger pangs.

Stop the baby food diet whenever you are comfortable or feel that you have reached your goal weight.
