How to Delay Eating Breakfast
Some fitness experts, including dietitian Mary Flynn of The Miriam Hospital in Providence, R.I., recommend putting off eating breakfast as long as possible after a morning workout. Delaying when a person eats the first meal of the day helps push the body to consume more fat stores for energy after the workout. However, for some, delaying that first meal might prove challenging, as you may be low on energy and hungry since you have not eaten for several hours. But by setting a schedule that does not accommodate a prompt breakfast, a person can improve their chances of delaying the meal for as long as possible.Instructions

1
Write up a list of chores or other errands to do in the morning. Add lingering chores that need to be done regularly as the list will need to be refilled for every morning you exercise. Note the types of errands or chores that do not get regular attention, like cleaning the windows, as this will help ensure they get addressed. Avoid any tasks that can take a particularly long period of time, as you'll have to eat at some point.

Exercise first thing in the morning after waking up. Do not have any food before working out, but stay hydrated by drinking water. Avoid sports drinks because they contain calories and can be counterproductive to the effort of skipping breakfast.

3
Begin the first errand or chore on the list right after the workout.

4
Eat a healthy breakfast after the chores have been completed.
