      Weightlifting not only strengthens your muscles, but elevates your mood.

      Use weights at least 3 times a week. Weightlifting tones the muscles which boosts metabolism leading to quicker weight loss. It also energizes the body, elevates the mood, decreases the chances of back injury and strengthens the bones which reduces the risk of osteoporosis --- the thinning of bone tissue and loss of bone density over time.

      Cardio is recommended for at least 30 minutes everyday.

      Run outdoors or use cardio machines to burns off excess calories since the body is moving. Some forms are slightly better in terms of fat loss but all cardio, regardless of form, will burn calories. An expensive gym membership or high tech machines are not needed, even though they can help. Just go for a brisk walk, run in place, jump rope or go for a bike ride. Just make sure, some form of activity is done everyday for at least 30 minutes. For quicker results exercise for a hour. Never skip a workout.

      Body transformation has to do mostly with the food that is put in your body.

      Eat lots of fruits, vegetables and protein. Stay away from foods with high carbs, such as chips, desserts and white bread. Do not eat out often, but instead buy fresh produce and make your own meals. It's actually a cheaper alternative than eating out everyday.

      Positive encouragement always helps with motivation.

      Go out with your friends. Always have positive people around and let them know of your goals so they can offer encouragement. Have a supportive group who you can work out with and who will be there when stressful situations arise. Stay away from negative people who will try to throw you off track.

      Sleep can help the body and the mind.

      Sleep well. Studies have shown that lack of sleep can lead to weight gain. If hours of sleep cannot be fulfilled, try taking short naps. Always rest and relax the body. Pushing too hard without rest can cause burnouts and injuries.
