The Difference Between Organic & Natural Food
There is a lot of confusion on the differences between natural food and organic food. Though they appear to be one in the same, they actually have several differences that make them stand out from each other. These differences can range from standards held by the FDA, labels used and the overall demand by consumers.-

By definition, foods that are labeled as organic mean any food created through organic means. Natural food, on the other hand, are foods that are barely synthesized using preservatives or any other items not made by nature itself.
Standards by the FDA and USDA

The standards by which a food is classified as natural or organic are regulated by government agencies. For a food to be classified as organic, it must pass a stringent examination to ensure food production, processing and the handling of the items meet organic standards set forth by both the USDA and the FDA. Natural foods, on the other hand, are not regulated and do not have to pass stringent examinations to be labeled "natural."
Certification Agencies

Numerous certification agencies certify whether or not an item is organic or natural. For an item to be labeled as organic, it must be certified by the USDA. For an item to be labeled as natural, it is certified by INAPP (International Association of Natural Product Producers), but it is not required for an item to be certified by this association in order to call itself "natural," whereas an item must be certified by the USDA to label it as organic.
Liability

Foods labeled as organic can be held liable to rules and regulations by government agencies and their business can be shut down for not meeting organic standards. Natural foods, on the other hand, can be labeled as natural with little to no liability attached.
Storage and Shelf Life

Though both natural and organic foods do not use additives and preservatives, organic food typically has a longer shelf life than natural foods. Natural foods have a higher water concentration and are not processed; therefore, their spoilage rate is faster than organic foods.
Purchasing and Availability

Many natural foods are purchased at health food stores and all-natural food stores that promote natural food living. Organic foods can often be purchased at your local grocery store as well as health food stores.
