Sunblock & HCG Diets
A central tenet of the HCG diet involves taking human chorionic gonadotropin, known as the pregnancy hormone, once a day. The diet also restricts calories and fat to the extent that face and body creams with fat content cannot be used due to the absorption of fat into the body. For sunblocks, this requires the use of oil-free products.-
HCG
-
HCG is known as the pregnancy hormone because it is produced by cells from the placenta that nourish the egg after fertilization and attachment to the uterine wall. HCG in the bloodstream confirms pregnancy. Sufficient amounts to be detected in the blood appear approximately 11 days after conception. For urine tests, it takes 12 to 14 days for enough HCG to accumulate. The levels double every 72 hours according to the American Pregnancy Association until it levels off at 8 to 11 weeks.
HCG Diet
-
The HCG diet is based upon eating specific foods totaling 500 calories a day plus the daily dose of HCG. Weight loss is predicted at 1 to 2 pounds per day. Eat as much as you want the first two days of the diet to load up on calories before starting the 500 calorie regimen. Usual time on the diet is up to 45 days.
Sunblocks and Fats
-
Sunblocks containing any type of oils are banned from the HCG diet. "Most women find it hard to believe that fats, oils, creams, and ointments applied to the skin are absorbed and interfere with weight reduction by HCG just as if they had been eaten," states the HCG diet website. Whether you believe it or not, the substances are banned under the diet.
Authorized Products
-
Do not use products with sesame, avocado and olive oil. Use anything mineral-based. Refer to the approved list on the website. Failure to follow the guidelines affects dieters in different ways. According to the diet guidelines, if you can eat any substance you put on your face or skin, it is the same as eating it.
