How to Make Your Own Editable Candy Bar Wrappers
Making your own candy bar wrappers is a fun addition to any treat. Making the wrappers edible brings fun and deliciousness to the adventure. Construct the edible wrapping out of rice paper. When made properly, rice paper can be folded and manipulated and is safe and healthy to eat. Once the wrapping paper is finished, secure the paper around a cold, non-sticky piece of candy -- a piece of milk chocolate, for example. Wrapping the paper around cold candy ensures the paper will not dissolve due to the warmth of the candy or melt into the candy itself.Things You'll Need

1
Cut rice straws into 1-inch pieces. Remove straw leaves. Use 10 or 12 fully sized rice straws.
-
2
Place the pieces into a steel pot. Soak the pieces in 15 quarts of chilled water. Change the water once the water turns gold and dark. The soaking process may take at least seven days to completely ready the straws for simmering.
-
3
Simmer the water for up to three hours. Simmer until the straws are flexible. Overcooking can cause the rice to disintegrate. Rinse the straws with chilled water.
-
4
Place the straws onto a flat board and smack repeatedly with a small wooden bat. Flatten the pieces out into a sheet as the batting continues. Fold the sheet over on itself and continue batting until all of the rice pulp is eliminated and the sheet is one centimeter thin and flat once again.
-
5
Fit the sheet in between a deckle and mould frame. Place a bamboo screen in between the framing materials and close the frame. The screen will press flush against the sheet.
-
6
Dip the closed frame into a 7-inch deep vat of chilled water. The frame should be completely submerged. Soak for five full minutes.
-
7
Pull the frame out after the first minute and shake. Shaking the frame helps solidify the rice grains into sheet form. Place the frame back into the water for the final four minutes.
-
8
Pull the frame out of the water and open the frame. Place the frame upside down onto a piece of felt. Layer the felt over the top of several sheets of clean newspaper to absorb excess water and prevent air from drying the sheet too fast.
-
9
Pull the mould from the sheet very carefully. Cover the sheet with a separate piece of felt and allow it to dry for five minutes. Cut the sheet to size and wrap around the candy pieces.
