What is a fichtel sachs ag stamo 202?

Fichtel & Sachs 202 is an engine produced by the German company Sachs GmbH. It is a single cylinder two-stroke piston valve controlled engine with air cooling and a displacement of 197 cc (12 in³). The 202 was widely used with many versions built for different purposes, in vehicles such as the DKW RT 125 and Hercules K 125 BW, as well as in stationary applications like power generators or water pumps.

The 202 was developed from an earlier Sachs engine, the 501. The main difference was, that the new cylinder was slightly tilted toward the back, enabling a lower position for the carburettor. This allowed easier breathing and thus more power.

The 202 was produced in various versions. Some feature points are:

- Version K: Kick starter, with two different positions for the kickstarter.

- Version E: Electric starter.

- Version F: Fan cooling, used in various Hercules models, as well as in the Zündapp KS 80.

- Version G: Generator, featuring a coil producing power for lights or charging a vehicle battery.

- Version S: Silent motor, used with a belt drive in several Hercules models.

The 202 was successful engine and was used in a wide range of vehicles and application. It was known for its reliability and robustness.
