How to Detox in One Week at Home
The body is constantly breaking down and removing toxins, such as pollution from the air, pesticides and other harmful toxins in foods and drinks. The body cannot remove all of the toxins, and this leads to gradual buildup. Detoxifying the body takes only one week.Instructions

Talk to a doctor about health risks before starting a body detox. While completing a one-week detox plan has several health benefits, some health problems might worsen, such as anemia or diabetes. Always make sure the detox will not harm your health, especially if you have any chronic health problems that require medication.

2
Select a stress-free week to implement the plan. Avoid weeks such as when a major project at work is due or the week a baby is being born, and avoid weeks where eating out is expected, such as on a vacation or company trip.

3
Eat three full meals and two snacks a day. Detoxifying the body does not require going hungry, just changing the regular diet plan for more nutrients and fewer toxins. Eat as much as preferred.
-
4
Select a large variety of vegetables. A detox diet is high in vegetables and requires variety. Any vegetable is fine, but be sure to include onions, garlic, broccoli, asparagus, cabbage and cauliflower. These vegetables have enzymes and antioxidants that help to detoxify the body.

5
Eat fruits. A detox diet requires eating several fruits in high amounts. Fruit is very high in vitamins, minerals and antioxidants that support the body, provide nutrition and detoxify the body. If drinking fruit juice, avoid juice that has added sugar.

6
Eat nuts or seeds for protein. Protein is helpful in remaining energetic. While fruits and vegetables can give a boost in energy, sometimes removing protein completely can result in energy lows. If energy remains low for the first three or four days, eat small amounts of fish such as wild salmon or organic eggs, which are high in protein and healthy fatty acids, but do not add toxins to the body like beef or other meats.

7
Stay hydrated. Drink the recommended eight glasses of water or more a day. Hydration is vital to removing toxins from the blood and body. When dehydrated, the body holds onto water and toxins rather than flushing them from the body.
-
8
Avoid processed foods, sugary treats like cookies and cakes, dairy products, alcohol, gluten, artificial colors and sweeteners. These are hard for the body to digest and result in toxin buildup in the body.
