Choosing the Day

Choose a day when you will not have to perform a lot of physically exhaustive work. It should also be a day when you can attempt to keep your mind relatively stress-free. A weekend or a holiday is usually considered ideal.
Morning Meals

Start off your one-day cleanse with one glass of pomegranate juice and a few almonds. Take care to only partially fill your stomach. Stop when you think you are half-full. Follow this breakfast with a mid-morning snack of a bowl of slow-cooked brown rice with soy sauce and, if you desire, some tofu. The tofu will provide you with some bracing protein for the day. Wash this down with a glass of water.
Afternoon Meals

As part of the one-day detox lunch, have another glass of pomegranate juice with a mixed tossed salad of greens. Dress this with olive oil, wine vinegar and salt, and have as much as you need to fill your stomach and satisfy your hunger. Toward the end of the afternoon, you should snack on another glass of pomegranate juice, accompanied by a handful of almonds. Stop eating when you are 50 percent full; take care not to overeat.
Evening Meal

This meal should be comprised of pomegranate juice---the last glass of the day---accompanied by a big bowl of slow-cooked brown rice. This should be the only food for dinner.

The pomegranate, the green salad, almonds and brown rice are optimum sources of all of the crucial vitamins, carbohydrates, proteins, antioxidants and minerals you require in a day. This one-day cleansing diet performs a two-fold function-- it eliminates toxic elements from your body while at the same time providing you with sufficient energy to perform your daily activities.
General Measures

Make sure you do not drink any tea, coffee, alcohol or carbonated drinks during the day. Avoid smoking and try to stay away from secondhand smoke. Take a warm bath in the beginning of the day and before bedtime, scrubbing the body well to promote blood circulation. Drink plenty of water and eat only when you are hungry.
