How to Super Hydrate

Super hydration is a method of detoxification, practiced by drinking a gallon of ice-cold water a day. According to its proponents, super hydration is a perfectly healthy and effective way to expedite fat loss and to build muscle. Warmed or room temperature water will not lead to the same results, but by sticking to a clear and simple method, super hydration can very well yield immediate nutritional gain, leading to an overall healthier lifestyle.

Sip the water. Upon first hearing about super hydration, many are turned off by the amount of water -- a whole gallon -- they would have to consume. They cramp up just thinking about it. Try drinking the water with a straw from a plastic bottle, one that is insulated to keep cool. Sipping from a bottle, instead of gulping from a glass, won't you fill you up as much.

Begin super hydrating with exactly one gallon, that's 128 ounces a day. After you've practiced the method a while and achieved positive results, it may be okay to increase your intake by a couple of ounces or so, but when starting out you don't want to overexert yourself. The best way to do this, is to get a 32 ounce water bottle. Four of those a day is exactly a gallon.

Consume most of the water before 5:00 PM. Remember, super hydrating is a cleansing process meant to detox, so you'll want to give your body plenty of time to absorb the water during its waking hours. And if you drink too much before you go to bed, you might not get a good night's sleep.

Keep the water ice-cold. When cold water is consumed, your body has to warm it to your 98.6 degree body temperature. This process involves calorie burning, which is an essential aspect of super hydrating.

    • 5

Maintain the water intake for 14 days. Expect more energy and to feel less tired. After super hydrating for a month, you might just be hooked.
