The 21-day holistic detox plan requires avoidance of several foods and drinks. Avoid consuming alcohol, coffee, soda or other caffeinated beverages. Do not eat sweets, sugars, artificial sweeteners or chocolate. Do not consume wheat, yeast or gluten products. While on the 21-day holistic detox plan, do not eat consume dairy products except for plain yogurt, goat's milk or soy products. Different from most other detox plans, the holistic one also asks users to avoid fruits or fruit juices except for bananas. Other foods to avoid include condiments such as ketchup, mustard and vinegar, red meat and nightshade vegetables.
Foods to Eat

While on the holistic detox plan, consume 8 glasses of water a day to assist in the flushing of toxins. You can also drink green tea or herbal teas with raw honey, or fresh vegetable juices. Choose organic foods when possible or use a non-toxic wash for produce. Eat fresh, leafy, green vegetables like spinach and kale, and salads. You will get protein from white meat, fish, tofu, lentil and soy products. For grains, you can eat brown rice and pulses. For dressings and to cook foods, use olive oil.

Pregnant women and those with health conditions should avoid pursuing a detox plan. Do not engage in rigorous workouts or strenuous activities while detoxing. Consider discontinuing the detox plan if you feel faint or weak.
