Ice Water Dieting

The ice water diet is a diet that requires you to drink nothing but water for anywhere between one and five days. The ice water diet is designed to detox your body while keeping you full enough to not be tempted to eat.

    • For the amount of time that you are on the ice water diet you are not allowed any other beverages or food. Depending on the results that you are seeking you would drink ice water for one to five days. Dieting for one day would detox your body. Dieting for up to five days would detox your body and help you lose weight.

    How it works

    • The ice water diet works like a detox program. It flushes out your system by forcing you to drink a minimum of 64 ounces of water each day, or half a gallon. The idea behind the ice water diet is to double the amount of water that you drink, so if you already drink this much water, double the amount for the ice water diet to be effective. Do not try to drink all of the water in one sitting. Divide it equally throughout your day so as to not overload your body.

    Results

    • The ice water diet is not well known for helping you to achieve real weight loss. Generally any weight lost on the ice water diet is water weight which can be lost with a healthier detox program or by simply adding more water to an already healthy diet plan rich in fruits and vegetables. By continuing the ice water diet for several days you can cause harm to your digestive system because your body is not receiving the nutrients that it needs from an intake of water.
