7 Day Body Detox

A seven-day detox is perfect for people who are trying to improve their health by cleaning excess toxins from the body. Our bodies are exposed to toxins on a daily basis and the battle begins as our organs work hard to keep our blood clean. Our kidneys and liver filter blood of impurities. However, the standard American diet has resulted in more toxic people because the organs cannot always keep up with the load that is put on the body. Too many toxins staying within the body can result in cancer, serious health conditions or general poor health.
  1. Preparation

    • Before starting any type of detox plan, be sure to talk to your doctor first. Colon cleansing and removing toxins can cause problems to arise in some people. It is important to be under a doctor's care before beginning a detox program if you have any digestive health problems. For instance, if you have a temperamental gallbladder, the cleanse may cause your body to purge out stones which can cause pain other complications. If you experience any pain, go the ER right away.

The detox consists of a pure raw food vegetarian diet for one full week. You may get hungry, but you are always welcome to eat more fruits or veggies.

What you will need: Distilled water, garlic, 14 lemons, one bag of carrots, two bags of apples, and other whole vegetables of your choosing such as asparagus, beets, and dark leafy green vegetables. You can also buy any type of fruit that you like such as peaches, watermelon, pineapple and strawberries. However, please don't combine the fruits and vegetables when making juices as outlined in the program. The other fruit you can combine are apples. In addition, don't drink distilled water on a regular basis. Distilled water should only be used during a cleanse to flush out excess toxins.

    The Plan

    • You will need to consume half your body weight in ounces of water each day. For instance, if you weigh 160 pounds you will need to drink 80 ounces of water every day. If you exercise or spend time in the sun you may need even more water. Listen to your body.

During your detox you will need to avoid all processed foods, sugar, junk foods or anything that is not beneficial for your body.

Each day you will be drinking special juices and eating raw foods such as fruits and vegetables. You can steam some vegetables for meals, but for the most dramatic results don't cook any of your vegetables.

You will notice that you feel better, but you may be craving sweets for the first few days. If you really need something sweet you can have 1 teaspoon of raw honey twice daily. However, it is so important that you consume raw honey because processed honey is just turned into pure sugar.

    Start Your Detox

    • Start each day with a full glass of distilled water and drink water continually throughout the day until you have consumed the amount of water required for your body weight. Wait 30 minutes before juicing. For breakfast drink straight lemon juice with one mashed clove of garlic every day. Juicing two lemons per day should be enough for one small glass of juice for one person.

For lunch, juice a combination of apples and carrots. If you need more substance, wait a hour or so and eat some fruits and vegetables whole.

For dinner focus on eating only vegetables such as salads, carrots, and asparagus. Continue to drink distilled water throughout the day. Do this for seven full days. After you have completed your detox you will still want to eat fruits and vegetables daily. Just slowly incorporate cooked foods into your diet.
