Turmeric is what makes mustard, cheddar cheese and curry yellow. We eat it almost every day, however, not for health reasons. Turmeric, known as curcumin, is useful for treating and cleansing the liver, relieving liver injury and for invigorating the production of bile. Turmeric helps rejuvenate liver cells that break down toxins. The bitter herb has a mild and earthy taste. It can be added to whole grains when they are cooking, marinara sauce, soups, stews, stir fry's, or any food you wish. Fibrous Cuban black beans and yellow rice is a prime example.
