Candida Diet Breakfast Ideas
Candida albicans is a naturally present fungus that resides in our digestive and rectal tracts. An overgrowth of yeast causes thrush, vaginitis and rashes. It is vitally important to change your diet, and in so doing, discontinue feeding the yeast. Sugar, alcohol and yeast products simply fuel the fire. Make some dietary changes so you can get back on track to being healthy.-
Foods to Avoid
-
You must sustain a diet that is yeast-free, sugar-free and fruit-free in order to get your yeast balance back. Refrain from eating aged cheese, pastries, dried fruits, gluten products, honey, pickles, raw mushrooms, soy sauce, ketchup, citrus fruits, and ham. This can be an overwhelming list for anyone.
Luckily, there are wonderful breakfast recipes that will start your day off right.
Breakfast
-
Focus on eating lots of vegetables and lean protein for your morning meals.
Give yourself a big boost of protein by making an egg-white omelet. Add to the omelet your pick from a number of ingredients, including spinach, garlic, roasted bell peppers, jalapenos (not pickled), onions, leeks, asparagus, and fresh herbs. Give the omelet a creamy texture by using either feta or goat cheese. For added protein, throw in some chopped chicken or turkey. Be sure to use a cooking spray or extra virgin olive oil when cooking your vegetables.
You can also add a little gourmet to your day by making a quiche.
Mix up three eggs, one cup of coconut milk, any vegetables you want, and one teaspoon of olive oil. Pour the mixture into a ready-made rice flour pie crust, or make your own. In place of cheese, there is a large variety of soy and rice cheeses on the market--just check out your local health food store.
Breakfast for Vegetarians
-
Get a start on eating your daily allotment of protein by having a wonderful breakfast.
To make a tofu scramble, purchase the extra-firm tofu. Use a fork to crumble the tofu and mix in fresh herbs like cilantro, parsley, thyme, and chives. Saute the tofu with your favorite vegetables and one tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil.
Do not top the scramble with salsa, though it might be tempting. The citric acid from the tomatoes will continue to feed your yeast overgrowth.
Another great yeast-fighting meal is sugar-free yogurt topped with oat bran. Give your body proper nutrition without sugar. Keep your diet high in vegetables and proteins to get you feeling better.
