How to Liquefy Coconut Oil to Take by Spoon

Coconut oil is a natural oil, found in health-food stores, that can be used for cooking. Some people take coconut oil to help with acid reflux. Since the oil hardens at room temperature, it must be liquefied before it can be taken with a spoon.

Instructions

    • 1

Leave the coconut oil in the jar or container.

    • 2

Place the jar in a sunny area and let the sun melt it. This is the best method because the sun will not cook the oil, and the oil is more likely to retain its healing properties.

    • 3

If the sun method isn't melting the oil quickly enough, you can liquefy the remaining oil by sitting the entire jar in a pot of hot water. Do not boil the water or heat it on the stove. The coconut oil should melt in ordinary hot tap water. Coconut oil liquefies at 78 degrees F.
