How to Consume More Omega 3 Foods Than Omega 6

Omega fatty acids are known for their anti inflammatory healing powers. Most people tend to eat more omega 6 foods, such as avocados and almonds, than omega 3 foods, as omega 6 choices are more abundant. Foods rich in omega 3 are much more limited. Because of this, it may take more of an effort to add these foods to your diet.

Instructions

    • 1

Choose fish over beef. Some of the best fish to choose with high omega 3 are salmon, halibut and snapper. It is best to buy wild caught fish rather than farm raised.

    • 2

Try walnuts or pecans. Take a break from peanuts, cashews and almonds, and get your daily omega 3 dose from these other nuts.

    • 3

Snack on seeds. The very best seed you can eat with omega 3 is flax seed. If you don't want to eat the seeds, flax seed is readily available as an oil, and even flour for baking.

    • 4

Select green, leafy vegetables. Some with the highest amounts of omega 3 are broccoli, spinach and even cauliflower.
