Dehydrated Camping Food

Camping is done in the woods, on mountain peaks, in camp grounds and even outside the doors of an arena before a big concert. Being that it usually takes place in remote areas, food is sometimes hard to come by and prepare. That is where the camper benefits from dehydrated food.

    • A lot dehydrated foods are used with the aid of water. They are simply placed into a pan with water, mixed up, cooked and eaten. In cold prep, they are not cooked.

    • One of the most popular types of dehydrated camping food is fruit. Some common types are apricots, apples, pears, bananas and raisins.

    • One common type of dehydrated camping food is pudding. It is mixed in with water for one full minute, and then it is ready to eat.

    Side Dishes

    • There are a few side dishes that can be found in dehydrated form. Some of these include sweet potatoes, rice and vegetables. These are mixed with water in a pan and then heated up over a fire.

    Others

    • There are also meats, breads, soups and stews available in dehydrated form.
