How to Take Psyllium Husk Powder
Psyllium husk powder is the powdered husk of the seeds that cover the plant named plantago psyllium, which is grown in the Middle East. Psyllium is well known for its fiber benefits, which is approximately 71 grams of fiber per 1/3 cup. When taking psyllium, it is best to start with a low dose -- half of the suggested usage -- and working your way up to the suggested dose by increasing it in one-eighth doses over a course of four weeks. The reason for this gradual increase to full dose is to make sure you can tolerate the usage of psyllium since some people experience gas or bloating
