Sweet potatoes improve the skin's complexion and help fight sun damage. In the Ladies' Home Journal Article, "7 Miracle Foods for Healthy Skin," Sue Moores, registered dietitian and spokeswoman for the American Dietetic Association, states that sweet potatoes are one of the best vegetables for the skin due to their ability to improve the complexion. Moores says that sweet potatoes contain the antioxidant beta carotene which helps protect the skin from sun damage.
Berries and Plums

Strawberries and blueberries are among the best fruits for skin health due to their high levels of flavonoids. A study in the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry found that berries, such as blueberries, strawberries and blackberries, and plums contain some of the highest levels of flavonoids and antioxidants, more than any other foods. According to Colleen Reilly in her article for Vanderbilt University, antioxidant-rich fruits help fight sun damage, help with skin repair and strengthen the blood vessels.
Kiwi

Kiwis are packed full of skin-healthy vitamin C. In the Ladies' Home Journal article, Moores says that kiwis are also among the best fruits to eat to improve the quality of your skin. She says that kiwis contain more vitamin C per serving than all other fruits, and therefore help keep the skin firm by improving the skin's collagen.

Avocados help fight skin inflammation. In an article for Web MD, doctor and nutrition expert Liz Lipski states that foods containing healthy oils benefit the skin through their healthy fats. One of the best vegetables with natural oils and healthy fats is the avocado. According to Natural News, the oils in avocados improve the quality of the skin by ridding the muscles beneath the skin of any inflammation.
