How to Apply for Food Stamps If You Are a Boarder

Anyone applying for food stamps must meet certain income and asset limits. A boarder must meet the same criteria as any family applying for benefits. To qualify for food stamps, a boarder must be expected by the landlord to provide his own food and to have a way of preparing that food, such as access to kitchen quarters. Food Stamps are now referred to as SNAP benefits.
