List of Peanut-Free Foods for Schools

Peanut allergies have become a serious problem for schools. Kids who have peanut allergies can be exposed to peanut dust in the air or even from residues left on lunch tables or desks in the classroom. The issue has led many schools to become "peanut-free." Fortunately, many peanut-free foods can be served in schools, helping to avoid health issues for kids with these potentially dangerous allergies.
  1. Fruits and Vegetables

    • Fruits and vegetables are peanut-free and healthy snacks. Fruits and vegetables contain vitamins and nutrients and offer many health benefits. Some good choices to serve include apples, oranges, grapes, carrots, celery, applesauce, fruit cups and raisins.

    Dairy Products

    • All dairy products are peanut-free. Serve milk, cottage cheese, yogurt, string cheese, cheese cubes and pudding.

    Crackers and Cereals

    • Certain types of crackers are peanut-free. Some types and brands to include are saltines, animal crackers, vanilla wafers, Triscuits, Wheat Thins, Ritz Crackers, Cheeze-It, Goldfish, Teddy Grahams and Kashi. Cereals to consider include corn flakes, Cheerios (not including Honey Nut), Chex, Wheaties, Life, Kix, Frosted Mini-Wheats and Cinnamon Toast Crunch.
