Corn syrup and high fructose corn syrup solids are used in a variety of processed food products. Corn syrup is used to add flavor, preserve shelf life, balance the melting and freezing process in frozen treats, and even maintain the shape of some processed food items. Corn syrup is a major additive in many foods on the market today.

    • Store bought desserts and candy containing corn syrup include: Hershey’s Watchamacallit, Lifesavers hard candy and gummy savers, Rice Krispies Treats, Kellogg’s cereal and milk bars, Nabisco Barnum’s animal crackers, Chips Ahoy, Fig Newtons, Honey Maid Graham Crackers, Lorna Dornes, Nilla wafers, Nutter Butter, Mallomars, Oreo cookies, Snackwells, Teddy Grahams, Nutri-Grain cereal , muffin, granola, and yogurt bars, Kraft Philadelphia cream cheese strawberry cheesecake bars, Grandma’s homestyle peanut butter cookies, Ben & Jerry’s, Dreyers, Eggo syrups, Hershey’s chocolate syrup, Knott’s boysenberry preserves, and Smucker’s grape jelly.

      Beverages listed as having corn syrup are: sodas, Capri-Sun tea and juice drinks, Darigold chocolate milk, Hanson’s tonic water, Ocean Spray juice, Powerade, Snapple, Starbucks frappuccino, Tropicana juice drinks and smoothies, and Village lemonade.

      Drink mixes with corn syrup are Saratoga Salsa Bloody Mare and El Paso Chili Key Lime margarita mix.

    Snacks, Condiments, and Cooking Ingredients

    • Snack items with corn syrup include: Oscar Mayer Lunchables, Nabisco Harvest Crisps, Ritz Bits, Ritz Chips, Ritz Crackers, Sociables, and Wheat Thins.

      Condiments containing corn syrup are: Heinz 57 sauce and ketchup, Hunt’s catsup, Miracle Whip, A1 Steak Sauce, Bull’s Eye BBQ Sauce, Holy Smoke BBQ Sauce, Jim Bean Steak Sauce, Kraft Barbecue Sauce, Pork Rubbers, Penn State Nittany Lions, Tuttorosso, Virginia Gentleman Bourbon BBQ Sauce, Kraft Salad Dressing, and Emeril’s Italian vinaigrette.
