How to Find Alkaline Foods
The term "alkaline" denotes foods and other materials that have a pH of more than 7.0 (i.e., non-acidic). Your pH is based on the internal environment of your body. A person should consume alkaline foods to promote a healthy pH inside the body, as this confers well-being and energy. Alkaline foods are all around you. Most foods are either alkaline or acidic. Processed foods and fatty foods are generally acidic, as are soda pop and candy. Raw vegetables such as carrots and broccoli are alkaline, and so are figs and raisins.Things You'll Need

1
Buy pH test strips at your local natural food store. First thing in the morning, test your pH to see if your body is acidic or alkaline. This is usually done by urinating on the strip; your urine is the most concentrated when you wake up.
-
2
Examine the list of alkaline foods in the resource section. Write down all of your favorite alkaline fruits and vegetables on the list and get ready to shop.
-
3
Go to the grocery store and buy the vegetables and fruits you've identified. Produce is usually found on the outer corner of the store, and you will often find dried fruits and vegetables on the grocery shelves.
-
4
Consider frozen vegetables, as these are also alkaline. Choose from a wide variety of vegetables such as broccoli and spinach.
-
5
Prepare your food and enjoy. Lightly steam vegetables to preserve their enzymes.
-
6
Avoid junk food and limit sweets to special occasions. The more alkaline your body, the healthier you will become.
