Calcium is a mineral that helps to build the hard structure of the bones and the teeth. If the body doesn't take in enough calcium, the bones and teeth can become brittle and weak. Foods, such as dairy products, contain calcium but it can sometimes be a struggle to obtain the required amounts of calcium from the foods we eat. Add 2 tbsp. liquid calcium supplement to foods like pancakes, pudding, smoothies and muffins. Liquid calcium can actually be added to just about any food to increase its calcium content. You can buy liquid calcium at a health food or department stores.

Add vegetables such as broccoli, spinach or collard greens to casseroles, soups and salads as these vegetables contain high amounts of calcium. Sesame seeds and almonds also contain high amounts of calcium, and can be added as well.

Cook and bake with skim milk, as it has the highest percentage of calcium out of whole, 2 percent and 1 percent. When the fat is removed from the milk, the milk is left with only the calcium containing portion. The more fat in the milk, the less calcium it contains.
