Liver Healing & Nutrition

Detoxifying the liver is essential as one of the steps to heal it. A healthy diet can also greatly speed up recovery time in healing the liver.
  1. Water

    • Incorporate more water in your daily diet, at least eight glasses a day. Water will help to hydrate your body, not dehydrate your body like coffee and soft drinks will.

    Eggs

    • Eggs can give you the protein you need and valuable vitamin B. Eggs also carry methionine, a sulfur-containing compound that is excellent while flushing out toxins from the body.

    Whole Grains

    • Whole grain breads and rice are another smart addition to your nutrition for an ailing liver. Whole grains provide much needed vitamin B and youth-preserving antioxidants.

    Fruits and Vegetables

    • Fruits and vegetables are easier for the liver to process than most foods. They are also loaded with valuable vitamins B, C and E.

    Avoid

    • Avoid foods high in salt, sugar and fat like sweet desserts, potato chips and foods cooked in oil. Stay away from all alcohol, which can overexert the liver.
