Raw Vegetable Cleanse

Eating a lot of junk and processed foods over time can lead to you feeling tired and having low energy. Our bodies are made to rid them of toxins and free radicals through waste elimination, sweating, coughing and sneezing. But sometimes, this is not enough. Your body needs some extra help, and doing a raw vegetable cleanse is the trick. Vegetables have high amounts of nutrients and water, and eating them raw retains their nutritional value, which may be lost when cooked. Doing a cleanse for a few days to a couple of weeks will restore your energy levels.
  1. Preparation

    • It's best to prep your body a few days before your cleanse so you won't have an intense healing crisis, in which you may experience abdominal cramps, body aches and headaches from the flush of numerous toxins. Limit your intake of alcohol, caffeine, meat, refined sugars and additives, and increase the amount of raw vegetables in your diet.

    Benefits

    • The first couple of days will be tough, but once the healing crisis is over, you'll notice increased energy levels and feel less sluggish. This can motivate you to be more active and to exercise. Because of the high-fiber content, there will be regular bowel movements, which can make you feel lighter and may lead to weight loss. Juicing raw vegetables is fine, but note that fiber is removed in this process. Having an increased amount of antioxidants and other healthy components can give you brighter-looking skin and a clearer mind.

    When the Cleanse Is Over

    • Don't abruptly start eating junk food again. Slowly incorporate other foods into your diet to avoid a bad reaction because your body is now used to raw vegetables. Because of the amazing feeling of the cleanse, you'll be more conscious of what you eat, so limit the amounts of processed foods to retain high energy levels. Stick to whole foods, raw fruits and vegetables to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Do a cleanse once in awhile, especially because stress and environmental factors can affect how you feel. There's nothing wrong with giving your body a tuneup to regain its vitality.
