Bromelain

Bromelain is an anti-inflammatory enzyme extracted from plants from the bromeliaceae family. Pineapple is one such plant. This enzyme is noted to break down fibrin, which minimizes swelling around the joints. The University of Minnesota states that Bromelain contains the ability to suppress the inflammation and pain in rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis and sport injuries. The recommended dose is 400 milligrams taken one to three times a day. Please note that Bromelain should not be taken with prescription blood thinners.
