Take five grams of the ribose supplement roughly 30 to 45 minutes before your workout. Take this dose straight in powdered form, or in pill form if your supplement comes as a pill.

Wash it down with water. This is the recommended dosage for athletes. If you are going to have an extended workout, for several hours, then take another five grams halfway through.

Mix one scoop, which comes with the supplement, into a beverage and drink three times per day. This is the recommended dosage for people who are taking this supplement to help reduce pain from fibromyalgia. After three to four weeks, reduce the dose to twice daily to maintain what you already have in your body.
