Green Barley Drinking Instructions

The green barley powder found in many health stores comes from the juice of immature barley. When this juice dries, manufacturers mix it with brown rice and kelp. Label information for green barely powder indicates that it contains a large number of amino acids, vitamins and minerals. Producers claim that this product has numerous health benefits, ranging from improved blood sugar control to reduced risk for cancer. While controlled, scientific research studies have yet to provide support for the majority of these claims, a study in "Diabetes and Metabolism" from 2002 indicated that this powder boosts the cardiovascular system of individuals with type 2 diabetes. Anecdotal evidence suggests that this product has a detoxifying effect on the body and leads to increased energy.
