How to Mineralize With Seawater
While seawater is much too salty to drink safely, it has the interesting quality of possessing a mineral balance that closely matches that in our blood. Water from the ocean is naturally alkaline, and the trace minerals in it are in a dissolved form that is easy for the body to digest. Both of these traits promise health benefits. Unfortunately, the amount of salt in seawater can lead to dehydration and kidney damage if you drink it in significant quantities. But, there is a way to take advantage of the trace minerals in seawater without putting your health at risk.Things You'll Need
- Seawater or sea salt
Instructions

Drinking Sea Water for Minerals
-
1
Purchase seawater from a natural food store or distributor. The reason to make the purchase through a store rather than collecting seawater directly is that you can look for a supplier that filters out harmful minerals like mercury.
-
2
Measure two and half milliliters of concentrated seawater or 10 milliliters of standard seawater using a delineated dropper. Put it in a glass.
-
3
Add eight to 12 ounces of fresh, filtered water.
-
4
Sip the diluted seawater slowly over the period of an hour or two between meals.
An Alternative Method
-
5
Purchase pure sea salt from a health food store. If you don't have seawater available to you, you can make an approximation of the diluted seawater above using sea salt.
-
6
Add 1/8 tspn. --- an amount about half the size of a pea --- to a glass of fresh water.
-
7
Stir the mixture until the salt dissolves.
-
8
Sip the mixture over an hour or two between meals.
