Protein Powder Uses

Protein powder is commonly used by bodybuilders and fitness enthusiasts to supplement their diets. If you don't receive enough protein in your diet, protein powder is a good source of that important nutrient. This is especially true for people that don't eat a lot of protein in their diets, such as vegetarians. There are a number of different brands and flavors of protein powder on the market. It is also commonly found in bases such as soy, whey, egg, milk and rice. Protein powder can be added to foods in various ways.
  1. Shake

    • The most common way in which protein powder is consumed is in shake form. Add it to a fruit smoothie or just make as a protein shake with water or milk. For the best results, mix the shake using a blender and follow package directions. Most protein shakes can be consumed once or twice per day.

    Pudding

    • Some protein powders can be used to make pudding and other desserts. Whey protein powder is the most popular protein powder for making pudding. You can also add protein powder to standard pudding mix for a high-protein dessert treat. The best way to mix pudding with protein powder is to add it in while mixing the pudding and milk together. Add one or two scoops to the mixture.

    Oatmeal

    • Protein powder can be added to your morning oatmeal for a protein-packed breakfast. Whey protein is easily dissolved in warm oatmeal. To mix it up a bit, use chocolate protein powder instead of an unflavored or vanilla powder. For best results, add the protein powder to your oatmeal while you are stirring the oatmeal and milk or water together.
