No Xplode Vs. Cell Tech
During a strength training exercise, your muscles undergo physical trauma, which causes the muscle fibers and cells to undergo a biological process to enhance the strength of the injury site, according to Len Kravitz, Ph.D. and Young sub Kwon, M.S. of the University of New Mexico. This repair causes the muscle fibers to form new proteins, which increase their thickness, thus causing your muscles to grow larger. Supplements have long been used by professional and amateur bodybuilders to support the growth process within muscle fibers. No Xplode and Cell Tech are two common supplements; however, what are the benefits and shortcomings within these supplements?-
No Xplode Formula
-
No Xplode is manufactured by BSN, which is recognized as producing some of the leading muscle building supplements. The main active compound within No Xplode is nitric oxide and creatine; however, these compounds are introduced into the body through a unique formulation. The proprietary blend consists of 18,000 mg of specific nutrients that are sent to the muscle to help aid in recovery and strength. The Advanced Volumizing and Performance Technology, or AVPT, is comprised of 11 compounds that work to enhance the amount of creatine delivered to the muscles and to promote better creatine absorption, according to the fitness experts at Bodybuilding.com. The formulation of compounds within No Xplode has allowed this product to receive numerous awards, which include: Muscle Builder Product of the Year (2005 -- 2009), Nitric Oxide Product of the Year (2005 -- 2009) and Pre-Workout Supplement of the Year (2009) from Bodybuilding.com.
Cell Tech Formula
-
MuscleTech is the manufacturer of Cell Tech, which is a creatine supplement to enhance the recovery process after weight training. The active ingredients within Cell Tech include creatine monohydrate, dextrose, malic acid, magnesium phosphate, chromium picolinate, disodium phosphate, dipotassium phosphate and taurine. There are several variations within the cell tech formula, as MuscleTech has released Cell Tech Hardcore Pro Series, which includes the above ingredients as well as several other proprietary formulas. These formulas include Crea-Edge Creatine Matrix, Osmodrol Cell-Volumizer, Lipoic-Tech and InsuloDrive, which work together to enhance the absorption of creatine within the muscle fibers.
Claims
-
No Xplode: Advertising copy for this product proclaims its ability to enhance the volume of your muscles as well as your energy levels during a workout. While these claims may be exaggerated, the proprietary blend within No Xplode will help increase stamina as well as provide nutrients to promote muscle growth; however, you must continue to workout vigorously in order to obtain visible results. Bodybuilding.com states that this product will help enhance your workout by feeding your muscles necessary nutrients as well as enhancing your mental focus; however, as with all supplements, results will vary from person-to-person.
Cell Tech: The largest claim within this product is its ability to rebuild your muscles faster than any other supplement. This is due, in part, by the enhanced creatine formulation; however, these claims come directly from the manufacturer, thus they may not be 100% accurate. The advertising copy for Cell Tech Hardcore Pro Series states that 44 scientific studies have been performed by universities such as McMaster University; however, many scientific studies or clinical trials are sponsored by the manufacturer of the product, and so some information could be exaggerated.
