Borax in Your Diet

Boron is a naturally occurring mineral found in many foods consumed daily. Borax is a chemical agent containing boron, salt, oxygen and water and can be used in small amounts for medicinal purposes. If considering using borax as a medicinal treatment, always do so under the supervision of a health care provider.

    • Fruits that are high in boron include oranges, avocados, cherries and grapes.

    Vegetables

    • Vegetables containing boron include parsnips, rutabaga and beets.

    Junk Food

    • Some junk foods also contain high levels of boron, including popcorn, chocolate and licorice.

    Mouthwash

    • Borax can be used medicinally to cure a sore mouth by creating a rinse of borax, tea tree oil and warm water.

    Sore Throat Treatment

    • Sore throats are treated homeopathically with a rinse combining honey, borax and warm water. In fact, this treatment has been shown to work where antibiotics failed.
